Phet is a victim of illegal wildlife trade.
Her mother was killed by poachers in Feb 2000. Her two brothers too did not survive. By the time she was just four days old, Phet had already been sold on four times by illegal traders.
Capture anxiety, malnutrition, ringworm infestation and diarrhea had taken their toll on Phet. She was in very poor condition and had lost most of her hair when she was rescued.
